Meet your Boca RatonTherapist for Teenagers
Hi, I’m Jenna, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in helping teens cope with major life changes and feelings of anxiety, insecurity and shame. I have years of experience working with adolescents and teenagers in outpatient and residential settings, and love providing therapy to this age group.
Adolescence is a time that is inherently full of adjustments and formative experiences. When your teen or your family is going through something life-altering, it can make their already 'out of control’ feelings become intensified.
Together in therapy, your teenager and I will address the impacts that these huge changes and stressful experiences are having on them. They will develop a deeper connection to and understanding of their emotions, and evidenced-based skills that will allow them to respond more healthily to the circumstances in their lives.

Sessions are tailored to your teen’s personality, comfort level, and goals. I allow your teen the space to share about their interests, relationships and inner worlds at a safe pace. Therapy often includes conversation, emotional processing, developing coping skills, practicing mindfulness, creative expression, or exploring patterns in a supportive environment.
-
It’s common for teens to feel unsure or hesitant about therapy at first. Building trust in therapy takes time, just like it does in any other relationship. Therapy is not about forcing change — it’s about creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space where your teen can explore growth on their own terms.
-
Parent involvement depends on the teen’s age, needs, and treatment goals. Therapy often works best when there is healthy collaboration between myself, my teenage client, and their parents or guardians, while still protecting my client’s privacy.
